Welcome friends! I am Heather Bassett, owner of Birth by Heather. Many times over the last 8 years I have looked into birth work, and 4 years ago I finally decided to take the plunge and work towards certification to help folks on their walk through pregnancy, birth and beyond. I finally in 2021 secured my certification through Midwifery Institute as a birth doula. I am passionate about bringing my tools and knowledge to folks of all walks of life through compassion, and evidence based care. Through my life as a mother I have been on both sides of the coin giving birth in a Hospital under OBGYN care, and in a birthing center under Midwifery care. I have helped clients have hospital and out of hospital births. In my spare time you can find me reading, crocheting, photographing my life, gaming, advocating for the LGBT+ community and standing up against racial injustices. I am passionate about helping pregnant folks get the advocacy they need and helping to uplift their voices to receive the care that they deserve.
I have lived near Longview almost my entire life. I look forward to serving the East Texas community.
